New International Colorist Academy Workshops at AbelCine LA
Monday, 23 November 2015
We’re excited to announce two new masterclasses in partnership with the International Colorist Academy (ICA). Coming up in December, both classes will be held in our LA location and led by award-winning colorist Dado Valentic. For more information on DaVinci Resolve 201 and Color Grading for Feature Films, see below.
ICA Training with Dado Valentic: DaVinci Resolve 201
Thursday-Friday, December 10-11, 9:30 am – 5:00 pm
This two-day, hands-on workshop will look at color correction in general, as well as in DaVinci Resolve specifically. Participants will work through a short conformed sequence from start to finish using Resolve 12 and general colorist strategies. Advanced techniques and tricks using DaVinci Resolve 12 will be covered. This class will be capped at twelve people, each with their own workstation. Participants will work with the instructor to grade sample footage, as well as discuss the different formats and challenges; however, students can also bring their own material if they choose. To continue their learning after the course, attendees will be able to keep the media project and stills. Since this is an advanced course, ICA will confirm your registration.
ICA Training with Dado Valentic: Color Grading for Feature Films
Saturday-Sunday, Dec 12-13, 9:30 am – 5:00 pm
In this workshop, participants will work on a theatrically released feature film project that was shot on a RED Epic using anamorphic lenses. Participants will gain experience by taking the film from preparation for grading through to the final deliverables. Besides color grading, attendees will also get an extensive look at the new features in DaVinci Resolve 12 for non-linear editing and finishing from a feature film perspective. As this class is designed for advanced Resolve Colorists and assistant operators, ICA will confirm your registration.
