AbelCine Announces Plans for Sales and Training Facility at Cinespace Chicago
Thursday, 09 April 2015
In keeping with its commitment to technology, education and community building, AbelCine will open a new facility later this year on the lot at Cinespace Chicago Film Studios, located on the west side of downtown Chicago.
Combining an interactive sales showroom with classroom and community space, this AbelCine Learning Point will be the first of its kind in the region.
AbelCine has maintained a midwestern regional sales office since 2009. The relocation from their current Oakbrook Terrace offices to the new facility puts AbelCine closer to their core customers and provides an essential professional educational resource for the Chicago production community.
“An AbelCine Learning Point organically combines tech, education and interaction in a comfortable, but purpose-built environment,” states AbelCine CEO Pete Abel. “It’s a great way for industry folks of all levels to see what’s emerging, learn from specialists, and most importantly, learn from each other. What better place for us to provide this than right on the lot at Cinespace.”
“A big focus of ours at Cinespace is to drive production business and fill these jobs from within the local Chicago community,” states Alex Pissios, President of Cinespace Chicago Film Studios. “Having AbelCine on the lot gives us a great local resource for the development of technical skills and industry training.”
The new facility will include a multi-use 90 seat training center designed for classroom style or hands-on workshops, presentations and events, as well as a fully appointed, interactive sales showroom featuring professional equipment from every major production equipment manufacturer.
The 8000 sq ft space will also serve as a welcoming community place for local industry people, schools and associations to gather.
The expansion is scheduled to be completed by the summer of 2015.
