Aframe’s Cloud Video Production Network Goes Live in North America
AbelCine Named an Upload Center, Proving High-Speed Ingest of Full Resolution Video
New York, NY – April 16, 2012 – Aframe, the cloud video production platform designed to liberate the professional video production process, today announced that its US private cloud network is live and actively supporting the company’s growing North American client base. Operational in London since 2010, Aframe’s private cloud network allows professional video creators to share, search and collaborate without on-site equipment or full-time staff.
Aframe is the first private cloud SaaS (software as a service) video production platform that eliminates many of the issues associated with full broadcast-quality video production. Aframe saves professionals time, stress and money all the way through a production workflow. After ingest, Aframe will transcode video and store it securely. Teams can then collaborate with multiple colleagues using document sharing, timeline commenting, video sharing, and review and approval tools. Aframe also handles the process of tagging media or allows users to tag it themselves, providing a powerful search tool in either case. The system also allows users to send links to footage hosted on Aframe for non-team members to review and approve. An overview of the service is posted on Aframe.com.
Aframe also announced today that it would be expanding its upload center program and named AbelCine one of five new US partners to its private cloud network. AbelCine will provide upload to Aframe as a service from its New York and Burbank locations. P2 cards, SxS cards, USB, sSATA, Compact Flash, FireWire 400 and 800, and SD Cards are among the supported formats and storage devices.
“We are excited to provide Aframe as a service to our clients,” said Jonathan Epner, Director of Digital Media Services, AbelCine. “We are always looking for new ways to help our clients manage their digital assets and assist with workflow challenges. We believe Aframe is just such a service, and expect it to quickly gain popularity in the US.”
Other Aframe upload centers in the US are PostWorks (NYC), Wexler Video (LA), Rule Broadcast Systems (Boston) and WH Platts (Atlanta, GA, Charleston, SC and Charlotte, NC).
Aframe is available as a free personal account, with professional accounts starting at $99 a month per user, or enterprise accounts at $249 a month per user. The system will be on display at the Aframe’s NAB booth, #N3222 K-L in the Cloud Computing Pavilion, North Hall.
